This chapter is not exhaustive and is limited to broadly outline the tax consequences of the main events occurring when doing business in France. It does not constitute a tax advice or a client - attorney relationship. Materials are not suitable for tax analysis. Visitors are invited to consult a tax lawyer before taking any decision.
Except if specifically listed, pensions, life annuity and all benefits are subject to CSG and CRDS. 95% of these gross revenues suffer CSG at a rate of 6.2% (6.6% as of January 1st, 2005) and CRDS at a rate of 0.5%. 5.1% of CSG only is deductible for income tax purposes. CRDS is non tax deductible.
Foreign source benefits, pensions and life annuity are subject to CSG and CRDS if the beneficiary falls within the scope of the social taxes (check "who is taxable ?"). CSG and CRDS are withheld by the debtor of the revenues when paid.
